Hey there! My name is Nadin and I'm from Germany. My responsibility lies with the graphics as well as the advertisment of this lovely site. Apart from that I'm lingering in the shadows and be there when no one expects me. But no worries, I do not bite (hard). Joke aside, I'm well-bred and have manners. I love harmony and try to maintain it in every aspect of what I do. I love to brainstorm before jumping into a thread so there will be absolutly no reason for you to be shy. Just write me a pm or meet me on discord! When I'm not around then it's because I'm at work (shifts), I'm dead or our time zones are way too far apart.

Hi! Maggie here, the moderator around these parts. Some of you might remember me from Believe In Heroes, or BIH to go by the site's acronym. My job lies squarely with the site layout and aesthetic, as well as advertising. I work as a Legal Secretary, and I live in Ireland, so my presence around the board might be spotty, but I will be hovering at various intervals. What do I bring to Infinite Dreams? A love of writing, and particularly, story telling. I also have all this useless Norse mythology knowledge that makes me the best equipped to deal with all them pesky Aesir, Vanir and whatever else might wander into the site, so if you have any questions about that area of things, hit me up either by PM or on Discord at madmaggie#6538.

Electric Eye
Another boring day for the former general. He sometimes wondered why he accepted the job. Nothing could compare to his years in the military, first commanding men into battle, then as another bureaucrat in the Pentagon. But even that was a bit more exciting than this. Back then at least he had his fun with new military projects and war games. And of course, his obsession with Banner. His daughter haven't spoken to him ever since the last time he crossed path with that damn Banner, the asshole! It was not only that the man could turn himself into a weapon of mass destruction, but that he had the nerve of dating his daughter... HIS daughter! The apple of his eye! Even if Banner's alter ego wasn't a big green snot, Ross would have still be against his daughter going out with such a useless piece of shit.

Now, as Secretary of State and head of the World Security Council, he didn't even have that. Most of his time was spent cajoling with useless diplomats, going to never-ending meetings with other members of the council and practically wasting his time, and growing ever older and weary because of it. He missed the action, the burden of command, the thrill of coming up with strategies. Sure, many could say that he has cemented his legacy with the passing of the Sokovia Accords, which was his baby. He came up with it right after the destruction in Sokovia and it was a morbid pleasure to have managed to stick it to Stark and his band of Super-humans Robin Hoods. He had brought the mighty Avengers to their knees... they now work for the WSC and by default... for him. Of course, there were assholes, like Rogers, Romanoff and the rest of those losers, but they shall be dealt with soon enough.

The Avengers were not the only game in town...

Although unknown to the public, the WSC have had for some time now information about a new set of super-human individuals that did not fall into the category the Avengers found themselves in. They were not aliens nor artificially enhanced nor technologically enhanced. They were born with their abilities. Mutants was the common name used to described them and in some cases they truly were mutants. They too would need to fall in line with the Accords and for that, Ross had endorsed the creation of what it was known in the WSC as the X-Factor... stupid name. But it was the name given so that was that. It could have been worse... some wanted to call them 'Freedom Force'... ugh! These individuals were assigned to monitor, track and bring in any of those 'mutants' that refuse to register per the Accords and even other super-human individuals if needed be. Of course, they still didn't have authority to do so, as the Accords still needed to be ratify in all of the 117 countries that signed them – that would take time – but in the meantime, they were training and getting ready for the time they would be activated.

And the best part of it was... they were mutants, former SHIELD agents, and super-human as well.

In a way, they were a sort of counterbalance to the Avengers in case they decided to act the asshole... which was a possibility considering they were led by the biggest asshole there was: Stark. They were also a counterbalance in case Stark and his freak show of a team refused to bring those Secret Avengers or whatever they called themselves into custody. Ross wanted nothing more than to have Rogers' and Romanoff's heads on a platter. There would be no amnesty for those two. The others, like Wilson, might get amnesty, just as Barton and Lang had. Maximoff... she could be useful as a member of the X-Factor and Barnes... he would be thrown inside the deepest hole and let to rot. Maybe in the same cell with Helmut Zemo, just for giggles.

Ross reached a group. The people he was meeting with. “Miss Runn, always good to see you. Lorna and Kurt, likewise.” He said charmingly and then sat at the head of the conference table. “We got a lot to discuss. I invited Miss Runn here because she is one of the WSC top security specialists and analyst. But first... how has recruiting for your team going, Lorna.” He asked the green haired mutant, daughter of that asshole Leshnerr. It was the best thing for everyone that man went the way of the dinosaurs... extinct. “Oh, before I forget... herr Wagner. I already commissioned the disguise device you requested. Tony Stark would be working on it.” He then turned to Runn. “We are all ears, Miss Runn... tell us all about the new security measures in the building.” He added. This was going to be a long day...

ALL YOUR BULLETS RICOCHET

Despite so many attempts to drag her down in the past, whether it was her aunt’s attempts to cover her up, or those at school’s attempts to cut her up, Lorna always stood with her back straight and her shoulders back. The grace and pride with which she held herself was more pronounced when she moved, and it had nothing to do with the powers at her disposal either, not as far as her abilities to elevate herself were concerned, anyway. The guilt she had experienced upon learning the truth about what happened to her mother and stepfather had only managed to chew through some facets of what she was, but it had yet to manage to leave its mark on her pride. The magnokinetic was capable of acknowledging that what she could do might be dangerous, but if properly exercised, could be used for the benefit of others, and that’s what she intended to do with it.

Although, she would admit, her intentions and those of her cohorts differed in that regard. While Mystique and the others viewed it as an alternative to the Raft, Lorna viewed it as a way to prevent other little girls from losing their parents the way she had lost hers. Those perceptions made a difference, and as a result, Agent Cooper had seen fit to promote her, appoint her to the position of figurehead of the newly established X-Factor group. That did not sit well with the shape shifter, and she was pretty sure it didn’t sit well with the likes of Pyro either, who always seemed to have quite the rapport with the Brotherhood’s second in command, even going so far as the call her ‘boss lady’ when her father was alive to act in that capacity. He did it now, too.

However, now was not the time for Lorna to let that bother her, as General Ross called upon them, for what purpose, she was interested to know. She knew of him through Agent Cooper, knew the Accords had been his brainchild, but beyond that, there was nothing else to know. She supposed that made her ultimately answerable to him, she mused, as she sat before him, amongst two other agents. Poised, she might have been, but the magnokinetic choose to sit crouched, leaning forward in the chair she was occupying. She eyed the cradle balance balls sitting in the corner of the table, and listened to the ‘chink’ they elicited as they made contact. It was the equivalent of humming in her mind, a soft song a mother sang to lull her baby to sleep, until it increased in volume, as she increased her focus in turn.

Her father had an apparatus just like that, but there were no threads required to hold the orbs in place. He batted them back and forth of his own accord, tried to show Lorna how during her tutelage, but it was only in recent years that she could do the same, like now. ‘But first... how has recruiting for your team going, Lorna’ though her eyes, and a majority of her focus, remained on the orbs under her control, she still heard General Ross’ question “It would benefit from less people fleeing the confines of the Raft” she pointed out with little to no dressing adorning her words, “People who actually want and seek change, at least, the change the Accords want and seek to make, without holding a gun to their heads. Take it from me, the threat of a bullet only achieves so much” she pointed out in the same cutting manner as before.

However, she doubted that would be the end of it. General Ross hadn’t called her, nor the others here to inquire into progress in their respective fields, at least, he hadn’t called them all here together for that purpose. That could have been achieved by speaking to them all individually, so there was a reason, another one, they had all been brought here together.

She had been reviewing schematics when news of the general's request was brought to her attention. Sigyn thanked the young agent with a nod of her head, before returning to her work. Why Thaddeus Ross sought her out now was curious, but not her priority. She adjusted the focal range of her test, watching her prototype containment center with vague interest, chewing the corner of her lip as she leaned over her data screens. "The modules keep tessellating." she muttered softly. With a wipe of her screen, the center powered down. She turned to one of her associates. "Why are they tessellating?"

Her associate frowned, shrugging. "Probably something in the matrix. It's like the containment center is fighting itself - not enough juice, but just enough to keep things interesting. And, of course, just enough to trick us if we place a mutant in it. We can't be confident, and we can't use it."

Sigyn groaned. "Well, fix it. I've got to go see Ross. Special meeting." she muttered, stepping down from the dais and strutting to the exit. Her associate gave a soft whistle, that disappeared in the hiss of automatic doors. The goddess sighed, running a swift hand through her hair as she walked toward the meeting place, head held high. She knew, of course, why the modules were tessellating - she had rigged her own equipment to ignore Aesir signatures, for her own precautionary safety measures. But when the containment center detected a signature - not mutant, not human - that it couldn't place, it malfunctioned. Sigyn couldn't perfect her machine while she was in the room, not without damaging the integrity of the invention itself - like her assistant had stated, it was too risky to use while it was unable to protect itself. But Sigyn couldn't fix it - and under no circumstance was she going to let that boy finish her new toy for her.

She marched with purpose to the meeting room, casually drapping herself in an office chair before the General and her fellow agents. She listened casually as Ross introduced her, waving her fingers in the direction of the agents. Her gaze flicked to Lorna, nodding as she spoke of her troubles - team recruiting, was it? Curious...to take down opposing forces of the Accords no doubt. Sigyn pursed her lips. She stood when Ross introduced her, nodding at her fellow agents as she did. "Right then." she muttered, producing a tablet from her bag.

"Security enhancements are a top notch priority for the World Security Council post-Accord release. We're expecting backlash, and no doubt have already received some in minor forms." She stated, and began flipping through the photographs on her tablet. A screen blinked to life on the wall, throwing the photos into fullscreen for all to see. "We have updated security systems, the basics - silent alarms, motion detection, all the reg, just updated to meet our needs. Using remnants from both the clean-up of Ultron and Loki from 2012, we've been able to mold and adapt. We're using what's been given to us - such as the ability to detect anomaly signatures upon entrance. We want to know what's going on, so we're going to." she stated matter-of-factly, flipping to the next screen, revealing a video.

"Footage from the helicarrier, circa 2012. Thor is dropped from the sky in a containment pod built for Bruce Banner."she swiped again, revealing a photo. "But now we have something better - a containment module built to respond and adapt to a mutant placed within - drawing on weaknesses, attacking strengths." she looked to the larger screen, hand hovering over her tablet as she assessed her creation. "Developed primarily from Chitauri technology, and capable of thinking on its own - in a way." Sigyn smirked. "Of course, with the primary controls in the hands of humanity - I'm not Tony Stark. I don't make crazed AIs."

I will fear no evil
I will hold on hope
He had been part of this constitution since some time now and he had managed to get a deal when he 'surrendered' to the government and his submission to the Accords that were still not ratified by the Senat of the United States. But it did not matter to him, it only was a matter of time anyway. The reason why Kurt joined and decided against his fellow mutants like the X-Men was not because of his personal convincement but more because of the overwhelming desire to be free. Now, he was faced and forced to think about the question: What kind of freedom was it he gained? To Kurt, the question was easily and quickly answered. He got the chance, perhaps it only was the illusion of a chance, to be looked at being a living and breathing being that had the right to walk the earth like anybody else. He hadn't been so lucky to live such a life before.

He was born a blue, fuzzy individual with yellow eyes and pointy ears. His feet and hands were 'deformed' and he was able to travel through dimensions and ignore the physical laws nature was following. It hadn't been his choice but his life! During his time in the circus, he was allowed to live a life of freedom but only because people thought he was wearing a costume and it was belonging to the show. But once the curtain of deception had fallen he was forced to live a life like an outcast. No family there to protect him, support him. No friends who'd told him everything was going to be fine. All that has occurred in his life has led to this... has made him agree to the terms of the government. To him, it had been the only plausible choice and he had stopped thinking about what might others think.

The X-Men were kind enough to take him in for as long as he wanted and they did not seem to judge him or look at him being a total freak. But it what he started to feel like nonetheless. It might not have been their intention but it happened. He still felt out of place, he did not blame them. He had a great time at the mansion and he even made friends there but he decided against it. Staying there would not have changed anything for him. He would still not be able to move freely; he still would have been forced to hide, to dress up in order to be able to walk the streets... and how to hide the fact that you are blue!? No, Kurt wanted to make it stop. He had enough of constantly looking over his shoulder and sleeping with one eye open. The Sokovian Accords might not be the best of solutions but perhaps the best they currently had.

What it actually meant to him working under the control of the World Security Council and being monitored by the government he still needed to figure out. But he already assumed that it would cost him his peace of mind. Was he willing to sacrifice it for his own freedom? Vielleicht. Today, he hoped he would get some answers about the purpose of being part of a new group the WSC was about to initiate and about he'd only heard rumours so far. BAMF He used the shortest and easiest way for him to participate in the meeting that had been summoned by Secretary Ross for today. When he rematerialized he made eye contact with a dark-gree-haired woman, a blonde woman and Secretary Ross... Had he been too late? He looked at the watch hanging on the wall and was relieved that he wasn't.

Good day, meine Damen, der Herr, he greeted and then took a seat in front of a long desk... but typical for him, he did not use the chair like any other would do but made himself comfortable by crouching in it. His tail wriggling back and forth, a habit of him that stood for several different feelings: curious, nervous, excited or highly focused. Only a slight change in its movements deceived what kind of a feeling he was going through. While he listened to what Ross had to say, the movement of his tail signalled that he was physically present, slow, slightly bored. But after Ross had addressed him his tail came to an abrupt halt and then started to wriggle fast and with some sort of pattern which indicated that he was joyful and excited. Thank you, Secretary. I haven't expected it to be commissioned so soon. Indeed, he'd thought it would take them a while until they would meet his 'wish', which was actually his condition.

His trail's movement got back to normal but in a slightly different pattern. It was slow but seemed to follow a certain pace, it seemed controlled and be controlled at the same time. Kurt was highly focused when he listened to Lorna and then Miss Runn as both were introduced by Ross. He silently agreed to Lorna about her explanation concerning recruiting others for their cause. The government had to overthink their handling of mutants that were undecided yet and could be won over. When Miss Runn started to speak about security measures he listened but had to admit that he understood only half of it. Kurt had never been a friend of technology... He could be happy that he knew how his phone was working... but he still hadn't found out the alarm function. Despite that, he understood every part about the containment module and he was not overly fond of standing on the wrong side of its walls.

Electric Eye
The General looked at all three at the table with neutral eyes. Each one of them had their own skills and talents. Wagner and Dane, of course, had much more than just talents, they had powers... powers that were now at the beck and call of the WSC. He would have loved to take credit for the idea and the creation of the X-Factor, but alas, he couldn't. It was not his call but now it seems he was in charge of them, at least nominally. Lorna was the Team Leader in a way and it was interesting to see that she was all in on the idea of a Mutant group to track and hunt down other mutants. Sure, some compromises had been reached and he could understand her frustration concerning recruitment. But the young green hair woman would learn patience in time. Rome was not built in one day and for them to start getting more quality recruits would take some time.

Wagner, on the other hand, joined up because of those compromises. It was either this or the Raft and Ross was aware that when facing with that alternative... of course a person would choose joining up. At least most people would. Even more so considering that Kurt Wagner was an example of a mutant: his look was surreal, that of a blue demon with a tail and everything. If anyone would have been hard press to hide from the Accords, it was him. There were, as far as the General knew, two types of mutants. Those who looked normal but had the powers and those who not only had the powers but also the physical manifestation of their mutations. Raven Darkholme, Kurt Wagner and others were an example of those. They would be easily single out if seen in public and once the Accords were finally enacted and implemented, there was no doubt those type of mutants would be the first to be forced to register.

To be honest, Ross was more worried about the ones that did not show any physical mutations, as they would be the hardest to find. Although the World Security Council was researching the origin of this new type of species, they were not even close to understand how or when it happened. So far they have come up with some hypothesis, from the more logical like genetics to the more esoteric and strange, like the theory that they were experimented on by some alien civilization or something equally silly. Regardless, without a verifiable way to detect who was a mutant and who was not, those that did not exhibited physical mutations were going to be a pain in the ass to track, find, and register. “No offense to my good friend Kurt here, but you should focus on those that show physical mutations for recruitment, Lorna. They are the ones with more to lose and more to gain if they comply with the Accords.” He suggested.

“Don't mention it, Kurt. Stark might be an asshole, but he will deliver as promised.” He told the blue mutant. It was a good idea, even if it meant asking Stark to do it. Kurt could not do his job properly if he could not hide his mutation, especially when the WSC wanted to keep the existence of mutants a secret still. The public could not know about it or it would be chaos. People were prejudiced about their own species, imagine what would happen if they find out there is a new one... Homo Superior... one that in context was a step above in the evolutionary stage. Even with everything kept under wraps some info has been leaked and there were already blogs and shit like that talking about 'strange' occurrences. Sure, those few talking about it had been deemed crackpots and their blogs considered nothing more than 'Conspiracy Theories' nonsense... but still, eventually people would start to listen. Hence why the WSC was nipping all of it in the bud.

He listened to Miss Runn as she ran down the security measures that were put in place. Backlash was already here, but interestingly enough, not from the general public, as the Accords enjoyed a large approval rate so far, but from the Avengers, who were the first to be hit with the Accords and needless to say, some were not that happy. Already a splinter group had formed. The General was mighty interested in the containment pod, as it could be a way to neutralize those like Hulk or Thor if they become unbridled about signing. He grinned when she mentioned Stark.“Indeed you are not him, and thank goodness for that.” He joked. Stark was a pain in the ass, but the fun part was that he could do shit about the Accords. He and his Avengers – minus the fools who went to business for themselves – were now under WSC control and the billionaire knew that if he so much as sneeze the wrong way, his team would be taken from him. Ah, sweet home Alabama... although Ross wasn't from there, but it was a cool song.

“Splendid. You and your team have done a remarkable job.” He congratulated Runn and then to the other two. “For the time being, you two would work here until the Accords are finally implemented, for we still don't have authorization to begin the process. Besides, it is taking some time to set up the whole procedure of registration, cataloging and if necessary relocation.” It was a massive undertaking. Not only they needed to set the whole infrastructure to handle the registrations, but they had to work in concert with the other nations that also signed the Accords. Politics... ugh. Ross despised political process but he was now part of it, sadly. “Still, that doesn't mean you are to be idled. As you all know the Avengers split... there is a group of them that are now fugitives and the Council want their heads in a platter... literally. Romanoff and Rogers. The problem is, we have no idea where they are... How can we remedy that? Any ideas?” He asked the three of them, not knowing that some of the Secret Avengers were closer than he thought...

ALL YOUR BULLETS RICOCHET

While General Ross made a practical point, highlighting those with physical mutations for recruitment, considering the fact they were easier to pinpoint, as well as the threat the Accords posed, in her own experience, ‘Epsilon’ mutants made up the majority of those. Her father had told her much about the ways in which their kind could be measured, using letters from the Greek alphabet. The likes of the Master and Mistress of Magnetism themselves were classed as ‘Alpha’ mutants, the second most powerful mutants in existence. Epsilon mutants, on the other hand, were considered the weakest, with only their physical features serving as their mutation. Some of them had no powers, period, in which case, they would have been of little use to the cause.

There were some exceptions. Mystique was an obvious one, even Lorna herself. The emerald green hair that flowed from her head in waves was a quirk of her mutation, to match the energy that vibrated around her whenever she used her powers. Speaking of the sapphire skinned mutant, the magnokinetic wasn’t long taking note of the other sapphire skinned mutant in the room, who not only shared her complexion, but her glowing gold eyes too. Ever since she’d crossed paths with her father, she’d learned, and seen a great deal of what ‘evolution’ had to offer, but one thing she hadn’t seen was a mutant that looked like the Brotherhood’s second in command, until now. That was why her eyes lingered on him, on his colouring, in particular, and not because it startled her.

If Lorna could endure being in the presence of Toad, she could endure anything. No, it was simply because she was reminded of the shape shifter, only, it seemed his powers differed from hers. Upon appearing in the room, the magnokinetic didn’t cough at the smoke that hung in the air, but choked at the scent that invaded her nostrils, unlike anything she had ever smelled before. He also appeared to have a tail. As for her other governmental colleague, there didn’t appear to be anything spectacular about her, certainly not in comparison to her mutant brother, anyway. She was, however, exceedingly, bordering on unnaturally beautiful. Her golden hair cascaded down her back, and her eyes shimmered like the cerulean surface of the water, but other than those stunning features, she was human.

Lorna had to admit, she was impressed, as the agent explained the progress they had made in the field of security, especially where a relatively unknown anomaly like mutants were concerned. “Known mutants, I expect, Agent Runn?” the magnokinetic asked, “Your security systems, I imagine, can only adapt to known mutants, or mutations? We have a tendency to vary, as you can see, looking at myself, and – Kurt, is it?” that was what General Ross had called him. “We also have a tendency to evolve. While it might be capable of adapting, can it evolve in turn? The reason I ask is because, just as periods of heightened emotional stress cause our powers to manifest, in some instances, periods of heightened emotional stress also cause us to advance. That’s something you’ll probably be contending with on a rather large scale when the Accords are implemented” and though her tone was laced with scepticism, she was curious.

As General Ross broached the topic of security with Agent Runn, it soon became clear when he proceeded to elaborate why herself, as well as her fellow mutant, were here. ‘Security’ was where they featured too, which also entailed apprehending the fugitives she had heard so much about, Captain Rogers, and Agent Romanoff. It appeared, they would be the first casualties of the accords. “Short of them being in the actual vicinity, I’m afraid there’s little I can offer insofar as capturing them is con-” but at that precise moment, Lorna was cut off, as something foreign entered her orbit, and quite a few somethings too. With that, her eyes fluttered to a close, as she strived to push everything in the room out, and let the music in.

The Mistress of Magnetism didn’t hear the dull drum of the iron that flowed in everyone’s veins. No, what she heard was an operatic pitch of pure metal, albeit, a metal she had little understanding of. “I can count three. One made of metal, the other two carrying it, but carrying it in large quantities, all the same. The compounds, they’re not what I’m accustomed to, but there’s differences in their alignments” Lorna explained, eyes still closed.

Sigyn didn't know what she thought of the mutants before her. Her hand hovered over her tablet as she assessed them, watching as they listened to her presentation. While Sigyn herself was interested in their development - their powers and abilities, their gifts - she had to remind herself that these mutants were not here for kicks and giggles - they were here to stop her, to get in the way of her plans. To stop she and her team from defeating Thanos. These mutants didn't know what was coming for them - a sad notion to behold. Of course, Sigyn hoped that by defeating the Mad Titan, perhaps Midgard could join as one, instead of fighting each other. Perhaps they could start anew - and morons like General Ross could step down from seats of power.

She listened as Ross spoke, nodding in approval. Physical mutations would be the most easy to detect - the most easy to hunt down. Sigyn frowned slightly as evidence of this team - a team to bring mutants down - was slowly but surely confirmed. She didn't like it - but what should she have expected? Why would they have her build a containment module, without someone to bring the individuals she could place in the module?

She blinked swiftly, turning to meet the green haired woman - Lorna's - gaze. Sigyn raised an eyebrow at her questions, but nodded shortly. They were not bad questions after all. They were well-thought out, and speculative. "Quite." she said softly after a moment. "I've only been able to run the schematics that I know of, yes. The variables are endless, and the module will require human intervention in order to function. It cannot simply run on its own, or it will became instantaneously obsolete. You will constantly need a mind to program it, constantly need an individual willing to dedicate their livelihood to it. The module is...needy, in this fashion." she elaborated, smirking. "But alas, it's the best we have at this moment in time. Which means, we'll need enhanced individuals - not too unlike yourselves," she added, nodding at Kurt and Lorna. "To be willing to defend the project. I didn't say it would be 100% accurate, not in these beginning stages. But it will be enough to give us a head's up on what we're up against."

If, of course, Sigyn could get the module to work without adding and unwinding Aesir signatures. She wasn't willing to sacrifice the safety of her people to these terrorists not even to play her part. She would not contribute to their demise by making a security system capable of stopping them - not now, not ever.

Sigyn shut down her tablet and sat back down. Romanoff and Rogers were not of her concern. She wasn't a field agent - she hadn't been since the very beginning of her tenure with SHIELD. It wasn't her job to hunt down vigilantes - her job was to get behind screen and figure it out from a distance. She ran signatures, gathered data, pulled charts and records. It was her job to analyze and heal - not too unlike her healing abilities. She listened intently as Ross and Lorna spoke, crossing one leg over the other and casually bobbing her heal - until Lorna fell silent, eyes closing as she studied the room.

Her sensations were vague, and Sigyn recognized little of who she spoke of. Instead, Sigyn immediately lowered her barriers to go searching herself. But instead of metallic strangers, Sigyn automatically recognized the signatures of two individuals she was very familiar with - her lover, and her husband. And while she knew the intended to invade the World Security Council, she certainly didn't think it would be today - along with the invasion of others

Choosing to strategically ignore Loki - only Valhalla knew what she would do if he wanted to bicker with her about her involvement in the council, an argument she simply didn't have time for- she immediately tuned quickly to Emma. "You're going to pay for keeping me out of the loop." she uttered swiftly. "Whatever the case - you're not alone. There are others - different signatures. Metal. There are also enhanced on the inside."

Her tablet blinked. Sigyn opened the screen and cursed. "Cameras are down. Minor security systems are obsolete. We've got a break-in."

"And if you'd be ever so kind, tell Loki I'm going to murder him for this later. His little schemes are going to get us killed."

I will fear no evil
I will hold on hope
It was all new to him that he was now about to become a part of a team, not to mention that this team would be responsible for recruiting new members and once the Accords were implemented, to hunt down those who were not willing to register and surrender. The latter posed some sort of trouble for Kurt when it came to his conscience because he was not one who willingly forced another being into submission. But he had made this choice and he will have to find a way to deal with it personally in order to do his job and not get in any trouble with his new employer.

At the moment, the world was in chaos because of the normal people who inherited the world and thought they were already superior to others and now faced people who were enhanced, physically and mentally better than them. To add to this chaos there were mutants who finally had the power and the self-conception to come out of the shadows, taking their place amongst all other living creatures. To Kurt, it was easy to understand that although chaos was needed to create a new world order there was also a plan needed to bring order and this plan was now afoot. That's why he decided to join the WSC... or the prospect of being imprisoned for the rest of his life and only because he was different.

He should be outraged at this kind of thinking but he was a rational thinking being and he would always take the primrose path. Although there were a lot of famous examples in history that showed how easy it was to misuse lists of registered individuals he also thought that mankind has become smarter ever since and therefore an organization which task it was to maintain peace and was now charged to supervise and implement such a registration was the best way to ensure peace. Only another issue he was now debating with himself in silence while the others talked about technology and a group that was wanted above all was his knowledge about a place here in the U.S. where mutants were living.

Ross' voice interrupted his thoughts for a moment and Kurt shrugged with his shoulders. I'm afraid I cannot offer any idea to find the fugitives at the moment. I could find them if I would know them personally and well enough. Kurt was no telepath but when he knew someone very well he could use this close connection to find them on the highway of all the dimensions he was able to travel through. And even then the quest might not be of success, too many variables and too many possibilities that would only lead Kurt to get lost. He used this way of finding people but only if they were in close vicinity and not in another country, for example, and he was not eager to give it a try either... He would not risk his life for those the WSC was looking for.

Again, he felt uncomfortable when Lorna and Ms Runn spoke about the containment module. He might get out of there within a blink of the eye but not when those that were handling it knew what a teleporter's weakness was. He was not going to tell them, they might be a team but locking up a teleporter and preventing them from getting out of there by just teleporting was more than cruel. Telekinesis was Kurt's biggest enemy and he was not ready to face it anytime soon. At least, he knew why he was here for and would not experience what this module was capable of. He was on the safe side and he would remain here as long as it was possible and bearable for his conscience.

Security breach... where he asked and was alerted. All his senses sharpened in an instant. His hearing was sharper than anyone else's but there were too many footsteps outside this room and he could not hear fast steps that were close to running which would indicate stress. If cameras are down, send me. I could be there in a second, less than a second. I only need more details, like where exactly is the breach he asked Ms Runn and then turned to Lorna. Can you tell me where they are, it hasn't to be precise.

Electric Eye
Yes... what Lorna said was the big problem they still had with mutants: they came in all types and sizes. Some had very slim abilities, not worth worrying about while others had massive powers that were a threat. Telepaths were a particular group the scientists at the WSC were starting to discover and those were some of the most dangerous. It has been always the fear of every person to have their thoughts read, their actions controlled or their minds clouded and having tricks played on them. And it seemed that telepaths could do that. Not only that, but they could blend in the general population and no one would be the wiser. Other mutants, like Lorna, could manipulate matter, be it through magnetism like she and her father could or other elements. Those were also potentially dangerous. Not to mention those that had superhuman strength and other physical abilities. It was a mess.

As Runn answered Lorna's concerned, Ross stared at his F-pad, a handy device created by Frost International, as he read Runn's report but he also thinking on the insurmountable task ahead of them. People like that jackass J. Jonah Jameson thought that the Accords were such an easy thing to implement and asked why did the WSC and the U.N. were taking so long in doing it. Ross hated the media. They always thought they knew everything and Jameson was the worst of the bunch. Loudmouth sonvabitch. The process of just getting the whole thing ratified by the over one hundred countries that signed it was a monumental task. After that, setting up an uniformed system to storage the registrar and how to process those who refused to register would take weeks, if not months, to arranged. Not to mention the creation of specialized groups to actually enforce it and the many laws that would need to be written to compliment the basic premise of the Accords.

There was something wrong. He lifted his eyes at the other three when all of them began to say that in fact something was wrong. The cameras were down? Well, that wasn't a new occurrence. Those systems had been faulty for a while, something to do with the powerful Face Recognition Software installed in them, or so the techy people had said. Such an expensive thing and it was still going belly-up. That was what happened when you did things in-house instead of contracting outside. But it was not all. Lorna sensing people that should not be in the building and Runn telling him that they had a breach... okay... that was a bit of a problem. Who would be so bold and stupid to break into the WSC building? It would be majorly stupid of someone to...

Oh... He suspected who could be that stupid. Probably Romanoff, Rogers and their band of merry assholes! It had to be them. Romanoff was an expert at infiltration and she has been in the building before, so General Ross didn't put it past her to get in and raise some hell, the scrofulous skank that she was. And the metal Lorna was detecting was probably that spandex wearing weirdo Rogers' shield or whatever. Still, this was not all bad. Maybe they could finally capture them! It was because these moments that Ross wished for the return of firing squads! He would put all of them against the wall and shoot them for treason. But sadly, there were laws and shit... The WSC would want to have a trial and expose them as the assholes they all were!

“Wait a moment, Herr Wagner.” Ross said calmly as he picked his cellphone and hit speed-dial. He waited... and waited... and waited... “The security control room is not responding, so I guess we start from there.” He began to think. What could they possibly want? If he was Romanoff – which he could not be, he wasn't a fat ass like her! Oh he hated her so much! – the most valuable thing to get was information... “The Mainframe! That bitch! Lorna, pinpoint where those 'metal' signatures are and where are they heading to. They might be a diversion. Kurt, go check the security control room. Agent Runn, find a security detail and send them to the Mainframe. She is in this floor! Then, go to your own department and see if nothing is amiss there.” He barked orders. Although this was a serious matter, he actually was enjoying it. Finally just do something more than play the bureaucrat!
